Yes if the main engine relay is not energising you wont get any power to the coil of the fuel pump relay and the rest of the injection system. The main relay is energised as soon as the ignition is ON via the diode V33
X, X, F, M,
X, X, U, A,
X, X, E, I,
X, X, L, N
v33, X, X,
fuse, fuse,

If that makes sense?

thanks Nigel, are u suggesting I check the main engine relay, all the fuses are intact, and thats the only relay I have not swopped over to check

The fuel pump relay gets it's power from the "main engine control" relay via fuse#9 this relay is energised when the ignition is switched on through a diode in the fusebox, with this relay energised it puts power to one side of the fuel pump relay coil, the earth for the coil comes via the engines ECU when it gets a good signal from the immobiliser control.

The main engine control relay is the one below the fuel pump relay.
