How can I replace the thermostat on my Siemens HB 903 double oven ?

I've just replaced the heating element (successfully in spite of a mild electric shock as I forgot to switch off the power!!) & it works fine but the thermostat is not kicking in so the oven just continues to heat up

the stat is located behind the oven temp switch riding piggyback on the selector and the capillary is fed down the back into the oven, you must have bent or broke this when fitting the element, it looks like a piece of wire where it enters the oven. not even sure i should advise you as you seem to have more ability to do damage than good but good luck anyway, TURN OFF THE POWER
