Is my Morphy Richards Iron (model 40654) repairable?

This Iron has knocked out all the sockets in the house twice in the past week after it's been on for 5 or 10 minutes. I've checked the plug for loose connections etc and can't see anything obviously wrong, other than a flickering amber LED on the right hand side of it at the bottom near the tank (the one on the left side doesn't flicker). I've spoken to a few companies / individuals and no-one seems to be able to help. On person I spoke to said he wouldn't PAT test it in case it damaged his equipment. A fair point I guess but it doesn't help me! It's only about 3 or 4 years old and seems a waste to chuck it. If anyone has any ideas for a simple, economic fix, I'd be really grateful...

think you picked up a leak on tank or pressure pipe that leak steam or water onto electrical.only way to open up and look for cracks.you can also put a little dye into water and run iron before opening up,that way you may find leak easier
