Vaillant Turbomax 824 overheats very quickly in heating mode?

My Vaillant Turbomax 824e overheats in heating mode all of a sudden after 12 years working fine... I replaced pump as advised then fitted new bypass after talking to Vaillant helpline... Hot water works fine... Please help!!!

Assuming you have a Turbomax + (rather than the old VUW). It sounds like the diverter valve isn't opening to the CH position
