scantronic 9450 - how can I disconnect completly?

My scantronic 9450 is on power LED only, none of the codes - mine or default - are working. Internal alarm keeps going off.
How can I disconnect this system completely.

just a lilttle note,do you know that todays electronics can last in excess of 100 years?most failures come about by design faults, and us mere mortals, who make a balls up some where along the line,:-)

alarm guy,we all might default after 25 years.,down to old age :-)

gts, February 2012
Actually guys, you know a NVM might default after 25 years with no power.
Although that is down to degradation rather than loss.

ditto

i dont mean to insult you,but giving advice is critical,it must be right advice, because we can cost people a lot of money if we get it wrong.,or even put their life in danger,i have over 38 years in this trade,as do alarm guy,and acorn,we like to have a laugh and wind people up,but we do it safely,so you are welcome anytime if you have an imput to make, and it makes sence, then people will follow your advice ,hope am here in 20 years time :-)be well

no name, you dont know too much about alarms,do you?or you would know that you dont pull the nvm from the 9450,but you short the reset pins, you must have went to the same day course as sd and only half a day at that,!

gts, February 2012
A novice pulling a nvm :(

just disconnect it or get someone in.

if you want the system restored, its not hard, try e bay look for engineering manual for your 9450,(good old panel)and it will tell you all you, need to know about resetting it,if you do reset it,replace the battery, hope this helps, bye

gts, February 2012
hi jo,there is no point in telling you how default the panel back to factory settings,because,1 this is a public forum,2 you dont have the engineering manual, and 3,you would have to reprogramme the panel, there is no point in turning power off ,then on again,it wont change anything,sd not know about a nvm,(panel has a non volatile memory)cant be erased by turning power off, best thing for you to do if you are sure that you want to kill the system,is,remove the fuse from the fused spur that feeds the panel, open panel, remove the red or black wire from the battery, the outside sounder should sound, but it will at a reduced level, just let it sound till it dies, and there you have it,system killed

gts, February 2012
SD,
you ever seen inside an outside sounder?
No.
I thought not.

"there will be a plug on battery", how do you know that?
Bet there's not.

BUT, what will be there in place of the battery plug, do you know?

acorn, February 2012
ever heard of an nvm sd?

gts, February 2012
If you switch power off, and disconnect the internal battery, outside sounder will go off, but only until battery is flat, unit is then dead, by disconnecting fully, you might clear the fault, so after about a minute, try reconnecting power, see if you can disarm it. if not, just disconnect power again. will just add a couple of minutes to total shut down.
If you wanted to, you could climb up and open the outside unit, there will be a plug on battery, unplug to shut it up.
