The headlight not working, bulb & fuse appear ok, what next to try?

ok, i tried new fuse, new bulb (s), there is power on one side of the fuse holder, no joy yet!?
All other lamps are ok.

check the fuse with a 12v electric screwdriver see if its live at both sides.if its ok go to back of bulb and pull dip wire to see if the wires broke inside plastic cover.then if still no nearer connect a wire across the front of car between the dip wires and increase the fuse on feed side to 20 amp to carry two bulbs

Hi Bob, thx. ALL other lights are ok. this one (UK drivers side, low headlight) I replaced bulb 2 mths ago after intermittent and then permanent failure, this time failed immediately, bulb looked good (i didnt test) new bulb fitted & still not working.

when you remove the bulb and it turns over the filiment reconnects its self.when you put it back in the hole it comes off again. try the bulb with a wire from the battery then tap gently and see if it still works.also if you plug a new bulb on wiring to see if thats ok you can do this with the old one still in place. you do not say if its one or both lights?
