thanks c d c took it to fords they said the say somthing in the lock needs replacing cost about 200 pounds if i can get bonnet open do it myself thank you

i could be totally wrong here but sounds a little expensive for a simple lock! try and get a second opinion from an auto locksmith, similar thing with my ford petrol cap lock had worn (not the key as i thought) got a lock barrel from fords £38 plus £15 for locksmith to drill out old barrel and fit new one with new key to match.
