First is the Spring broken? Or has the clip that holds the spring to the wooden frame broken? La-z-boy can send you the parts needed to make the repair. Start by removing the back of the recliner. Take a flat blade screwdriver to straighten the locking tabs located on the bottom sides of the recliner back. Remove the back cushion turn the chair over on the arms and look down the front of the seat frame, on each side you will see two screws holding one inch long pins in the seat frame. once these are removed the seat will lift up to be un-screwed at the back of the seat frame. Then remove the fabric or leather covering anf seat foam to get to the springs and or clips. Then reverse everything you have done and re-build the unit.
