there is no kink in the draining hose.took the kick plate of and there is nothing jammed in the filter/pump which isn't turning when put on a spin. Does it need a new drain pump?

If the pump is getting voltege,then yes,

are you certain that nothing is jamming the impeller?

Remove the pump for closer inspection.

The impeller should turn freely.
