how do i fix my ford escort estate?

I have a 1991 ford escort estate and although the brakes seem to be working the pedal feels very stiff and i have a water leak from the engine from the small round disk on the side of the engine. What could it be and what should i do?

The brake pedal stiffness coould be caused by a bad brake servo. Wither engine off, try putting you foot on the pedal and then start the car. The pedal should mve down slightly. If it doesn't the servo has a problem.

The disk on the engine leaking is probably a core plug and needs replacing.
