hello ,the engine turns over fine but does not fire.there are no fault codes coming up.have been told by a friend it could be the transponder?the car ran fine the day before but would not start the next morning.any help appreciated.

Is the engine management light flashing when you try to start? If so it is an immobiliser problem, usually caused the key being dropped or opened and the transponder lost. Depends on what model year, which you havent given.
As said, some decent diagnostics would point you in the right direction.

have you had it pluged in to a code reader ? the better ones usually have a fault code or tell you what it is .the most common on corsas is the crank senser its not expensive and runs in the sump oil and gets dirty.l think retail they are only £16 plus vat, may be worth a try
