gilera vx 125?

hi iown a gilera runner vx 125 it wont tick over but is a pain tostart some time revs upand sometimes dont start i have changed the fuel fuel filter fuel tap spark it sparks fine and some times back fires pls help at my wits end now have spent loads on it

no good with four strokes would not know were to start have changed carb fuel is flowing through good spark at wits end just going tosellit i think thanks for advice

you could buy a new carb only to find the problem's still there, it's your choice, for the sake of twiddling a couple of screws and checking that clean fuel is filling the floatbowl, the float is working correctly and is at the correct height, also worth checking the valve clearances, guaranteed it's something simple!

i have changed inlet manifold as old one was spllt have cleanded carb it started then stopped again its a four stroke maybe new carb sort it out ?

could be an air leak on inlet but sounds like the mixture is way out, try turning mixture screw inwards all the way then back out about one and a half turns, turning it either way for fastest tickover then turnig idle screw anti-clockwise to bring revs down to correct tickover speed.
