Fisher & Paykel smart drive9 "pride" 5.5l - lights are on, no one home?

I load her up and press 'start' - either nothing happens or it waits 10 or 20 minutes before deciding to start. Leds all awake. Somtimes I turn it all off and start again - sometimes works. It's been sitting all night half full of water petulantly deciding whether it wants to spin or not.
Any suggestions?

Water leak fault does not have to mean it is leaking on to the floor. It means that the water level has dropped. This can be caused by it syphoning water out of the drain hose. Make sure drain hose comes up as high as the top deck before going down to the drain. Also, if the drain hose goes in to a standpipe or other tight outlet make sure hose is not pushed too far down into it. There has to be room for the airlock to release the suction. As for the not starting, it could be a main board fault or display board fault. You need to get someone out to check and swap boards until they find the fault.

No - no action at all when I first press start. It just ignores me, like my wife. Sometimes it randomly starts half an hour later and stops partway through - no error lights.
I did the diagnostic mode and got 00100100 and the manual says this relates to a water leak fault but then how would it stop before it has even started to fill? Also no sign of leakage on the floor...

When you press start do you get a beep and the flashing light on the top row stops flashing? Does the machine ever go in to fault mode where it beeps continuously and error code is displayed along the top row?
