How can I fix my 1999 Bosch Dishwasher SG13012?

My Bosch Dishwasher has started to end its cycle with the items only partly washed and with no final polish on them.
I notice that the Powerball ends up at the bottom of the machine, almost intact, so it is not being released at the correct time to create the wash lather effect required to properly clean the plates, dishes, cutlery etc.
Temperature of the water seems to be fine.
Any ideas as to what might be the problem.

Your problem will be low water level in machine caused by sludge blockage in pressure chamber in left hand side of machine and also in clear corrugated hose runs from chamber to front of sump. Isolate from elec supply remove left panel of machine (if free standing machine will need to take lid off first, two plastic clips at rear then slide forward) Remove water jacket(large bit) (catch water in bowl) remove 2 plugs from micro switches on pressure chamber note where they come from, remove and clean out pressure chamber and front clear type hose, hose is push fit. Dont spill water into base of machine ,if you do dry it out. Refit all parts and bob`s your uncle (guaranteed)

Why not put the power ball ontop of the filter,it ends up in the bottom anyway,

it isn't releasing the ball at the correct time,

the dispenser can be rarther expensive to fix depending on the issue with it.

if you are just doing regular washes, then throw the ball into the bottom, after all it ends up there in the end anyway.

As partly washed, check the spray arms are free to turn, and are completely clean on the jets. Does it all sound right, is the pump running.
