I'd just like to add my thanks to Paul for this very detailed walk-thru, managed to get our machine working again just by resetting the stat after checking for continuity on the other stat and heater. Thank you very much.

I can't find the stat! Sorry for being thick. I have cleaned bottom bulge unit that pipes go into. Removed metal bulge but it is sealed and can't see stat. Is anyone able to help please

Isolate the power, and on the rear of the appliance, remove the bulged panel,

you will see the heater assembly,

unplug the four wired connector, and remove the two phillips screws from either side of the assembly,.

Remove it from the appliance,

look on the back of the heating element, and mounted on the frame you will see two thermostats,

one of the two stats especially if a black one is fitted,is resetable,

look on the rear of the stat for a small hole, use a paper clip and gently push into the hole to reset the stat,.

If you hear a click, then that's the stat resetting,

if yours hasn't got a resetable stat, then you will have to check both with a multimeter on either the ohms or continuity setting,.

You can make a visual inspection of the four element heater, for breaks in the elements, or test for continuity,.

If the heating elements are intact, and you suspect the stats, then you can bypass one stat at a time,by simply removing the two wires per stat and taping the wires together.

ensure the two taped wires are well insulated and try the appliance,

As soon as you feel any heat shut down the appliance immediately,.

Do NOT USE the appliance with the stat bypassed, its unsafe because you have removed the safety feature,

its mearly a test procedure
and should not be operated with either stat bypassed ,

If you need to replace either of the stats, then on completion, ensure the condenser and housing is clean and free of all lint.
