rear passenger window regulator broken?

hi found this forum most helpful but I'm horrified that this could cost in excess of £500 to have fixed (my car is a 54 plate renault megane cabriolet done 85k) that renault wont offer me the same as most guys on here have had at a 75% reduciton off the final bill - does anyone know if my car would still be covered? cheers

It`s more likely to be the regulator clip thats broken, there approx £10 on ebay, if your any sort of a DIY person you can do it yourself, look in your manual or get one and remove the door card, i would suggest you take the complete regulator mechanism off to do this, there`s usually three nuts to undo then you can remove the wires to the motor or remove this as well it all sounds a bit daunting but it`s pretty easy, have a look how the clip is fixed, you can pull it of the track one side and remove it, when you fit the new clip it`s hard to explain but you fit the cables then twist the clip round which tentions them then push it back on to the track it takes a bit of doing but if i can do it so can you, try it for the sake of a tenner.

DB`s answer is inappropriate and ignorant, pity you have to put up with this sort of reply, better vetting of relpy`s is needed here, but you can bet your bottom dollar he`s a Ford man cheap parts you see, cos the scrap yards are full of them?

Don't go to renault...go to a small independant garage...a window regulator costs about £30...then cost of fitting.

If you had looked at this site and typed Renault into the search box and seen the electrical problems that others with Renaults have had, you may not have bought the car and bought something better instead. Just think, you could have saved yourself in excess of £500.
