We have a 2008 model SMEG dishwasher, it makes all normal sounds of a cycle?

Hi, We have a 2008 model SMEG dishwasher, it makes all normal sounds under cycle, but no water seems to be getting in to the actual dishwasher. The inlet and outlet pipes are hot suggesting water is getting through to that point. Can you help ??

interesting you mention the incoming pipe is hot.... the dishwasher should be plumbed into a cold water supply, the water valve can fail if hot water has been going through it for some time.
The drain hose should not be hot unless it was filling with hot water and immediately pumping it out.
So, that suggests the anti flood device has operated.
2 reasons for that:
1) a leak
2) dirt and crud restricting normal water flow and a pressure device has detected a flood situation.

Not really a diy fix unless you're well into repairs
