I travel 10 miles to work. On the last two trips to work the temp light has come on after approx 7miles. If you switch the engine off and leave for a short while it goes off, but comes back on after a mile or so. Ironicaly when travelling home, the light doesn't come on, but the fan is runing when i get home. Any thoughts?, Thermostat or switch??

have you got the correct mix of coolant/antifreeze and has it been changed and the system flushed in the last 2 years? could be the thermostat slow to open, test it, if it doesn't start to open and is not fully open when it should, it needs replacing.
