The machine will stop if no water enters. The possibilities are:
i. the water connection is switched off. Dumb but it happens.
ii. the little filter at the connection point is blocked.
iii. the non-return valve at the connection point (the large rectangular bit on the end of the inlet hose) is not functioning. This hardly ever fails, but you can get a new hose assembly if it does.
I am selling my old machine on e-bay now if you want any spares.
