how can i fix the fanbelt noise when i start my car?

how can i fix the noise that i get when i start my car it is coming from the fanbelt an irritating noise like somthing needs lubrication it is a opel kadett 180is 1997 modle

spraying WD40 on a belt will quieten it short term but the oil in the wd40 spray will make the belt perish. Ultimately change the belt to quieten it use graphite powder, not usually available

The fan belt may be dirty, replace it and clean the pulleys. Alternatively try spraying it with WD40. Finally if it has a sprung loaded tensioner, that may be on the way out.
