peugeot 206 gearbox problems?

i have lost 1st and 2nd gear but can get 3..4..5..and reverse gears ok gear links seem ok .what has happend???

has one of the rods droped off at back of gearbox under bonnet this is the most common fault .other wise its the gearbox man and a strip down
