Fisher & Paykel 920 drain pump keeps running?

When my Fisher & Paykel 920 dishwasher is switched on at the power pont the drain pump runs even though there is no water in the machine. When appliance switched on display shows 73, won't run and drain pump keeps running. Capacitor is OK (tested)

Thanks, waited 60 secs and it stopped!!! Didn't wait that long before as I knew there was no water in it and didn't want to run the pump dry

Drain pump will normally run for approx. 60 secs then stop. Have you waited this long? If it keeps running it can be because the flood switch has activated. Take off the lower panel under the door. Look inside to see if there is any water on tray. If so then dry it off and pump will stop running but you will need to find why it leaked. The flood switch is a microswitch on a brown plastic holder with a piece of polystyrene under it. The polystyrene float will rise up on the water and trigger the microswitch. The switch itself may be stuck on check that as well.
