Will not produce steam - there's water in the tank, I've replaced the filter and there's no obvious sign of blockage etc.

When I press the trigger it beeps

The iron still heats OK .... but no steam!

Can anyone suggest what to do to diagnose the problem?

suggest to inspect heater thermostat,only you did not say if water coming from sole plate.it can happen that water heat up but not enought to produce steam cause off thermostat switching off to early. only other problem could be pressure pump,got very small hole for water to go thru,has opened a few and clear dirt but its a very delicate and tricky job,some are easy to see how to open others not
