Sounds like capacitor for the motor is faulty. Try spinning the drum by hand and whilst it is still turning close door and press start very quickly if motor then runs ok the capacitor needs replacing. CAUTION before handling capacitors short out the terminals with screwdriver, they can store an electrical charge and bite you!
