check to see if you have a cut out switch on the stand, if you have try cleaning the connections in the connector block and when clean fill connecting block with petrolium jelly before reconnecting, then wrap tightly with electric tape and cable tie a bag like a freezer bag around it, you will also have to make sure that the connector block that you have just wrapped is not in contact with and hot parts of the engine as this will cause melting and other problems. hope this helps.
