How can I fix my Hotpoint Aq 9l 292u washing machine cycle selector?

The cycle selector knob on my washing machine spins freely and I can not change the programme.

I can remove the cover at the back but it won't give me access to the knob and I'm baffled.

If I require parts can I get them anywhere other that hotpoint as the are quoting over £150 to fix!!!!!!
