I refitted a new thermostat which fixed the problem for a few weeks but the same thing is happening again.

Is there some other fault that would blow the thermostat and stop it heating up.

Drum turns fine but just cold air blowing out.

The filter has been slightly wetter than normal when last used also.

it sounds like your toc has blown you can bypass your toc on the back of your heater and see if that heats up if not it will be your element we sell the tocs for 12.99 + p&p

check to see if you have any shorting out wires, check to see if the heating element is broke. sometimes they break after time and touch every now and then which will cause speratic heating and /or shorting out
