How to shut off a Scantronic 9448+ alarm when there is a power failure?

Our external alarm sounds when a power failure occurs and will not acccept reset codes so the alarm sounds for about 20 minutes which I assume is preset. Drives our neighbours mad. Any solution?

Thanks for the advice. Did as instructed, fitted new battery and the user code worked fine to cancel the alarm and then the tamper light. Once again, many thanks

SD do go away you will KILL someone with your sh1tty advise and lack of knowledge.
All you do is read answers and regurgitate parts of the answers.
Seriously FO

OP you need a 2.1AH 12vdc battery, remove fuse before opening panel. The sounders will ring. Fit battery and close panel. Refit fuse in spur, enter code and all should be fine. If not it needs a reprogramme as they can reboot in a mains fail/spike. Google will get you the book needed.

There's mains voltages present within the panel, ensure you isolate the power ! BEFORE ! you gain battery access.

If you are unsure, get someone in.

Have the engineering manual at hand, you may need to reprogramme.

SD`honestly ` you cannot assume that everyone is confident working on live panels, its always better warning all of mains power.
