How can I fit a new radiant plate to my Zanussi ZCE7701X?

I have replaced the radiant plate on my Zanussi ZCE7701 it heats up but doesn't switch off. What might be the problem

Thanks... the new plate is slightly different in design from the original plate but we reattached the wires in what look a logical copy configuration

regulator issue or incorrectly wired.some connections moved on some plates.did you check numbers on old/new plate positions?
