No heat from heater?

Mt Vauxhall Vectra heatre does not work. The temp guage does some times register but mainly stays at the bottom. The car is a 54 plate 1800cc

sounds like heater thermostat might be stuck in the open position which will not let vehicle reach operating temperature fit a new one
