I came home from holiday to find my boiler had packed up so I put on all 4 rings on the hob for warmth, all of them came on but after a couple of minutes I returned to the kitchen to find the hob was completely off. There appears to be no life at all despite pressing and holding buttons!! I have checked the fuse in the wall and that seems fine (and is illuminated) - any ideas??

Don't use halogen hobs without something on the ring to get rid of direct heat.Wait for it to totally cool down then retry.
