That is error code 130 which means the RPS (rotor position sensor) is faulty. That is probably what you could smell burning or shorting out. Turn machine off at wall and do not attempt to start it as it could easily blow your main control board. The RPS is a small circuit board down below mounted on top of the motor and has 3 wires going to it. The RPS tells the controller board what position the motor is at so it can start turning. You will need a repair company to come out and check if there is any other damage. Has it been getting noisy on the spin cycle? If so, then it is probably leaking a small amount of water which could be what shorted the RPS. That would mean complete dismantle of machine & replace main seal & bearings as well as RPS replaced. That would be starting to get expensive.
