Hi, I was wondering if you can tell me what is wrong with our washing machine (F&P Gw611) It fills up with water but then does nothing, then it starts beeping constantly with a orange light flashing on the long wash and a yellow light flashing on the short wash. I hope this is not a major problem, i have sick children and as you can imagine the washing is piling up. Your help will be much appreciated. thanks

No problem. Just next time an appliance starts making strange noises, get it looked at asap before it damages other parts. It works out much cheaper in the long run.

Thanks for your answer, you have hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what is wrong with our machine. It was getting noisy and water leaking out the bottom of the machine before it stopped working. I think we better look for a new machine rather than trying to get this fixed. That is error code 130 which means the RPS (rotor position sensor) is faulty. That is probably what you could smell burning or shorting out. Turn machine off at wall and do not attempt to start it as it could easily blow your main control board. The RPS is a small circuit board down below mounted on top of the motor and has 3 wires going to it. The RPS tells the controller board what position the motor is at so it can start turning. You will need a repair company to come out and check if there is any other damage. Has it been getting noisy on the spin cycle? If so, then it is probably leaking a small amount of water which could be what shorted the RPS. That would mean complete dismantle of machine & replace main seal & bearings as well as RPS replaced. That would be starting to get expensive.

It has orange lights on number 1 and 7 ( that's from left to right) there are no other lights on. It starts to fill up with water and stops, starts with no agitating or spinning and you can smell burning from below the drum?

No good saying an orange light and a yellow light, that means nothing. Each light along that top row has a number attached to it for reading the error code. You need to count from left to right and state exactly which lights are on and which are off.
