oven does not function at all - any advice welcome

To all interested persons the purpose of the blue heated bullet switch is to force the cooling fan to operate when the oven is cold at the start of cooking so the pcb can check it is working, at the end of cooking the bullet heater turns off and the heat switch is kept closed by the ambient hot temperature untill the oven has cooled hence the 'run on' period of the fan after oven turned off. These heated stat devices also used on some Bosch and Neff ovens. Clearly if it was just a cooling fan control stat it would only need 2 leads not4. Hope that clears things up . Cheers

Yes heater, inside the bullet is a heater powered by 2 of the leads which operates the heat switch in the bullet which makes continuity on the other 2 leads, this powers the cooling fan oven wont operate if cooling fan not running. Changed loads for fault of faulty heater in bullet usually black and burnt out.

Heater?.that blue bullet/4 leads is the stat to control the cooling fan motor and will not stop the oven working. However some cookers do have a micro switch that hits the hinge to make them work so if the door is out of alignment it could be an issue.Make sure the hinge release is pressed hard down.Again I don't think this would display F3 code as this is a configuration issue code on main pcb so could be terminal and needs replacing

Dont know if this applies to your model but some AEG ovens have a little heater and heat switch if this goes faulty nothing works, Isolate oven from supply and look behind clock/controls, if you have this device it will look like a little bullet with 4 small leads coming from it it is tied into the loom with cable ties, very common fault. Cheers

thanks for the reply - but I have already tried it - one thing I have noticed is that the oven door is slightly raised on the left side??

switch supply to oven off at the mains supply for 10 mins then try switching it on.It could be a pcb issue if this doesn't work??
