power up issue with dell latitude d800?

My dell latitude d800 gives me an error message when ever i turn it on without an ac adapter plugged in.

"The computer is docked and only and only battery power is detected. This can happen if the power adapter is missing, the power cord is unplugged, or the computer is not properly connected to the docking station.

You should undock, redock, attach a power adapter, or plug in the power cord.

Strik the F1 key to shut down."

I can unplug it if i turn it on while on the adapter. If i turn it on within aprox 10 min after unplugging it'll turn on no issue.

It looks like it falsly detect a connection to a docking port as the message clearely state.

Carefully inspect all ports. There may be something stuck between the conectors of some port, probably metallic or otherwize conductive. Use an illumination as strong as possible, and you may need to use a magnifier.

There may be a switch or lever that is activated when docking. Make sure it's in the undocked state.

If you see anything, orient the port down and gently tap the casing. It may be enough to disloge the debrit.

You may need to use some compressed air, a soft brush or even a tootpick if there is some debrit stuck in some location.
Work very carefully as you don't want to bend any pin. NO pet nor child in the same room and door closed if there are ani in the house.
