Renault Megane dashboard showing "Check Injection"?

I have a renault megane 1.5 DCI - 2006. Took it out yesterday and the dasboard displayed "Check Injection". When i stopped and restarted the car it disappeared. Then today it is blowing smoke out of the exhaust in 1st and 2nd gear. Any ideas???
