how to remove the pump from the clothes washing machine?

The filter will not turn. Now the piece of plastic has broken with the effort of trying to turn it. Do I now remove the pump and if so how?

no dont take the pump off. try get a new cap for the filter, then you can take the old one off , your giveing yourself a lot of work by takeing the pump off, get the cap first. try ebay..
