thanks cdc, forgot to connect the earth lead and it wouldn't start, after pulling the rest of what hair i have out, read your answer again, found the swine as it fell down the back and i couldn't see that when i took it off, so out of sight out of mind!! but all went well, thanks to you....i have now washed my mouth out with soap and very happy with my parcel van once again, its pushing 160k and running like a dream again. thanks mate. disconnect battery, take note of your radio code, starter motor on n/s of engine about half way up at g/box.two 13mm long bolts holding it on,one should have an earth lead on it,most awkward job is the two electrical connections on your solenoid, one 13mm nut,one 10mm nut, usually get these with a 9 inch extension across the top of your engine mount with a ratchet,a torch may help also, remember to get the two leads onto the main terminal and the little lead onto small terminal when fitting in reverse.good luck
