yes you can do it yourself, but you (must) have no power" going to it when your working on it, next you have to see whats holding the element in place, so you can unscrew it to take it out, it should be held in by 3 screw. or clamps, just unscrew them, as for the wireing, should be 3 wires. ,take a photo of the wireing and put it on the new element the same way, get the old element out , take it to your hardwear store, get one the same shape and of the same power, to replace it, its not a hard job once you can get at the old element out, but you must make sure that you have no power going to the cooker in anyway way when working on it,, be safe..
