regarding ldv pilot 51reg clutch slave cylinder?

the slave cylinder has broken and all clutch fluid on road.will this necessarily mean i have to change clutch plates, would it be because of plates that slave unit died, and how do i tell.

could also be clutch release bearing assy broken,[usually lugs for fork break/turn letting fork travel too far]

you shouldn`t have to remove the g/box to change your slave cyl. Two 13mm bolts and the union to renew but when it is off check your clutch release lever where it pivots on the balljoint for cracks, wear
