red light barely lights up anymore start to heat up then just go off think cable faulty or has loose connection as red light brightens/fades when move it around but just out of warranty period!! pls help????

sounds like a loose or burnt wire. get an expert to check them or better yet buy a new set.
hair straighteners are the biggest cause of burn injuries and are renowned for starting fires. so don't mess with them
