you have to reset its filling level after each complete washing cycle
if you dont the water just keeps filling up and it over flows.
can any one give me any ideas on what this might be.

Any one of these:- Blocked air tube from bowl to pressure switch in panel. Air leaking from air tube for some reason ( split, hole worn in it, ends not connected tight) Faulty pressure switch in panel. Faulty water inlet valve not switching off when fill level reached.
