Help both windows now not working ?

I bought my Renault Megane Dimoneque 3 yrs ago, it's on a 53 plate and I think it's great. Last September the drivers side window went down and stayed down until my son took off the panel and raised it up. The whole inside of the panel was soaking wet and its leaking water in near the wing mirror, I have a plastic bottle catching the water at the moment. Driving home from work and all of a sudden the passenger window went down, when I got home I pressed the button it went back up again. But every time I now turn on the ignition it goes back down and I am having to drive in the cold and rain. I have contacted a local garage Auto Electric and told me the part is £150 plus vat and labour cost and thats just for one side. Any information greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

Hi CDC ... I contacted Renault local dealership and I am in luck it's been extended warranty from 7 years and is now 10 years. When I told them how much a local Auto Electrics wanted to charge me now way . It's going to cost me £ 100 for each window total cost instead of £550 also going to fix my leakly window. It's booked for Friday.

Just read your comments ..and thank you for the reply Dave and cdc. I agree since I have had the car it's bills bills. I am going to call Renault this morning and see what they have to say. I have had the car 3 years time for a change I guess. However I will still be sad to see it go, they are roomy, economical as in mpg, like a small van to transport large items. £30 road tax. Such a shame as Renault would have an ace car if they fixed these damn annoying problems. Thank you once again both for your reply.

Get used to the bills mounting up for your "great" Renault,or you could pay me £1000 and I`ll take it off your hands.

When I saw your query, i thought, it must be a Renault, I was right. Do you still think it's a great car now? The cost of these parts and labour are just the begining of expensive repairs. Renault cars are renown for their electrical problems, just type Renault into the search box and you will see what I mean.
