how to fix my renault clio 03 1.2 16v?

my renualt clio 03 plate has intermittently been losing all revs whilst driving but engine stays running i have found a bare wire running from the ecu, would this be causing the problem?

you shouldn`t have bare wires running anywhere on your motor so get it repaired and insulated and see if it runs better
