Mk3 Mondeo. Screen washer not working?

Pump ok, fuse ok. Appears to be the wiring that's at fault. Is there a particular area I should be looking at. Also sometimes the tail release button sometimes does not work, is this related?

sometimes on fords the wiring running down to the pump chaffs on the body,maybe worth a look
