Take the pollen filter out by some strong silly bang and giving a good wash will be white smock for a while but will run smooth after a while

where do i look for my depolution unit on my car

geoff, October 2012
Update finally found the problem
It's part of the vacuum system looking at the engine it's at the right hand side at the top for the variable valve timing you need to remove the pollen filter to get to it
It's a small black pod with 1 vacuum pipe coming out of it
Inside there is a diaphragm and spring this was leaking and causing a drop in the vacuum resulting in the turbo actuator not functioning give it a try or ask your mechanic to try the part to fix (if this is the same problem with yours) is £22.22 including vat from Peugeot or Citroen part number 36394 it's listed a diaphragm and is the same on all 2.2hdi engines
Post here if this helps I'll check regularly

Check all the bulbs as you can read from my posts all the cash i've spent it turned out to be a side light bulb

Mikey b, July 2012
Update dpf removed ecu remap 128bhp-155bhp and was still getting depolution system faulty.
After another day searching the Internet discovered that the canbus whirring system sees a blown bulb as a fault and sure enough a side light bulb was out.
A normal day is 20-30 miles and the fault would come on and limp now done over 100 miles without fault

I have a 06 2.2 with this fault 6 weeks 3 garages including Citroen and today it's going to another garage to be remaped and have the dpf filter removed from the ecu and exhaust...
The Citroen stealer said accelerator pedal £350 (still the same)
Then said swirl valve £240 (still the same)
Then said the turbo was on its way out (car has 42000 miles)
£1005 to replace ( don't think so) fixed the turbo myself with a 40 pence rubber pipe as it was cracked
Then fuel cap sensor and additive tank sensor £342 (again don't think so)
Now going in for remap and removal cost £360
Bye bye depolution fault bye bye dpf filter (£700 to replace)
Bye bye additive tank (£300 to re fill)
Will let you know how I get on today

Thanks i will give it a try whats a cerine resevoir. Hiow much do yah reckon it would be to sort it out. Yes i would never buy a citroen again nothing but aggravation

probably linked to your particulate filter in your exhaust system which is a common problem with these, one thing you could try is to give it a good hard run in low gear but high revs to get the exhaust really hot to burn off those carbon deposits in the system,if this fails then it may mean a trip to a garage with the correct code reader to re generate the filter and also maybe top up your cerine reservoir, but be aware this can be expensive, the pleasures of owning French cars!
