the PIR sensors are not lighting up red?

We recently decorated and have removed the front facia of two of our PIR sensors to be able to unscrew them from the wall to decorate round them. The covers were left off for a couple of days.
The alarm system quite rightly triggered a 'tamper' when we removed and replaced the covers but now that we're done and they'r back together none of the PIR sensors in the house are lighting up.

It's a veritas control box connected to the system - have we unset something by mistake, blown a fuse or loosened a wire?!

looks like all our crystal balls are at the cleaners :-)

Unbeknowing to them of course,we both know it's a get me back clause.

Ahh I see why you ask gts, if it's the R8 then the number of bleeps counted relate to that PIR (zone), but if more than one or all PIR's are down it will count the highest. It will also tell us if the entry/exit timer is running.

I didn't think of that one dohh!,good thinking batman :-)

Or are you thinking tamper and their user code hasn't cleared it?,

they dont give us much to go on, I mean it's a bugger when we have to mentally troubleshoot their systems because they don't include enough info.

On this one ,I hope for their sake's ,the engineer that visits doesn't set tampers on engineering and activate the service timers :-(

how many bleeps is the panel making??count them and get back to us

We've realised that the system won't arm now either, it just does a sequence of beeps when we try and set it instead.

The veritas keypad lights up for power shows the tamper light when we take the pir cover off etc.

Think we'll get someone in rather than mess with the fuses but thanks for pointing us in the right direction - we've not been in the house long and still getting used to the alarm so didn;t want to call someone out if we only needed to press something on the keypad!

Turn the power off or remove the fuse from the spur if fitted, take the cover of the panel and check the fuses.use a tester or multimeter, don't just look at them.

It sounds like the AUX fuse has blown, you do have the power LED lit on the panel and remote keypad don't you?'. Ensure all fuse's are intact first before we suspect the backup battery etc. Is this a wired or wireless system?,

Remember to isolate the power to the panel before you remove the cover,i'am expecting the bells to ring when you remove the cover, pop your user code in to silence the bells and carry on.

Get back to us on here if you run into any probe or if the bells ring when you remove mains.
