Hoover Optima OPH 714P 7kg 1400?

When I select a cycle, display lights up for a split second and then my consumer unit shorts out. Have taken back off machine checked for loose or damaged wires, all are OK. Any idea what could be causing it?

Unplug machine. Now unplug motor. Then try machine again with motor unplugged. If it starts up ok now, then it's a motor fault. If it is still the same, send your electronic module to us for test (£6 inc return post). Tony EMW Electronics, Millfield, Oxton, Notts, NG25 0TD Tel 0115 9652118

Lots of things, Mains filter, could be shorting, as the m/c takes more power, water valve/s, as they are one of the 1st to operate, after the programmer, You would need to disconnect things to find out. Mains filter, you would need to bypass it, so if not sure get someone in, water valves, you could pull a wire off, keeping it well away from anything else, then plug m/c back in and try, if does not blow, water valve, replace
