2004 Scenic wiper speed changing itself?

When the wipers are turned on they change from intermittent to slow speed to fast speed etc, constantly. Does anyone know a cure or is this yet another Renault cheap component problem? Does anyone know if Renaults sold in France also have these problems, or are they reserved for us on this side of the channel?

These people who you call "morons" put these comments on this site to warn others of problems with this make. If people can't be bother to get as much information on the car they are intending to purchase and buy a problem car, it's their fault, not the people who are trying to give them some information. Even the presenters on a motoring program on tv commented about the reliability problems, are they also morons?

With reference to both the answers below. My daughter has had a 99 megane coupe for 4 years without a problem, and my daughter in law has had a 2006 Clio for 2 years with again, no problems. If you know someone who has had these problems you will obviously be aware of them and most normal punters will act accordingly. My Experience of Renault up to now had not been negative so I bought one. It was not until I had problems and found this website that I discovered the raft of problems that seem to be out there. Its probable that if you knew of these problems and do not work in the motor trade you either knew of someone who had endured them or had a Renault of your own. I asked a question hoping for advice on how to cure the problem from some of the many helpful people who have contributed previously. Instead two people who obviously fall into one of the above three categories criticise me for not knowing what they know, and buying a car based on good experiences which has now got problems, without them knowing any of the details. If you do not know how to spell 'moron' simply copy the name at the end of either of those two answers as it obviously means the same thing

Yes, there have been loads of warnings about Renault electrics, but people still buy them for some unknown reason. Perhaps a few Renault owners could comment on why they made their choice to buy one, it can't be for reliability can it?

I have never seen as many electrical problems suffered by one manufacturer and don`t think it will be only in this country that this occurs, the warnings are there for every buyer of a Renault and they have to shoulder the expense for costly repairs but that is their fault for going there in the first place.NEVER BUY A RENAULT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
