No hot water...DO I really need to replace my Vokera 24E?

My 8yr old vokera boiler working for central heating but not water. It manages about five seconds of very hot water then runs cold. A plumber has told me that I need to replace the heat exchanger and flow switch and it will cost several hundred pounds in labour plus parts and he couldn't be sure that more things would go wrong after he fixed that. So I would be better off with a new boiler. Not convinced.. any suggestions ?

Yours is 8yo, my Vokera is 8months old (costed me over 2 grand), and VOKERA are not repairing it. They say the parts are on their was from Italy (it has been a month). I am fed up with them and started a campain DO NOT BUY VOKERA it is rubbish. Let the theifs pack their bags and go back to their mafia place.... now they changed their name to procombi, whatch out for that name too, the chapest of the chapest

RUBBISH,
As a b.g engineer i will tell you that if you phone british gas, they will rectify any fault for £140-£160 depending where you live.
it does sound like the domestic heat exchanger to me so further work may be needed after i.e a water softener/descaler
