Accenta gen4 alarm intermittent tamper?

Hi all , i hope you can help.

I recently fitted this gen 4, since day one i keep getting tamper alarms when it is not even set. It's driving me mad as I cannot for the life in me trace and correct it.

I have checked all tampers (global) tested all cables for continuity and device tampers. Everything meters out ok, I have also linked out the outside bell box tamper terminals inside the panel, but still get the tamper. Can anyone suggest something before I replace the panel. Please help i'am stuck.

last time.(a few years ago) that i enquired i was told that you have to purchase the manual that covers all the panels alarm guy,

You get it free did you not know?
It is still the leader IMHO with links ect (Some now say HKC). Another story.
The MK7 was always an atrocity, but easy to navigate. The new MK8 not so sure but a slight improvement. The touchscreen is getting there and has some nice additions. IT IS the future, Alarms and home automation. Notice Honeywell own the leaders (Well almost) X10 is on its last legs.
We can now use a variety of phones to control a lot of devices, be notified and watch events.
Gal`s have always been at the forefront and yes can be grumpy if you ring them for an answer that is on page 257, but that's better than some others who don't know themselves. even had Honeywell change their manuals when I found something and the software changed too. They do listen. Act slow but listen.

galaxy make good chocolate, and i dont care how many people diss with me,i would not use their panels if you paid me too,the keypad looks very, very cheap ,panel over priced, not for me ta ,and any comp that makes you buy the engineering manual , can go get stuffed,

Bet i know more about Bentleys than you think.
Ripped out a old relay system not long ago, just knobs to isolate in a bespoke made wooden box.
Connected to that record player and it still worked. Was in a old house on Central London, upgraded to a M1000. As they didnt like the Galaxy RKP.

Over 30 yrs in the game. And still playing :D

Made my first alarm with relays and pressure pads when I was 9 with bits from my dads repair kit. Frighted the life out of my mother :D

Ooohh, that reminds me Acorn' can you remember the thorn panel?, i always thought it was a decent bit of kit for it's era.I bet there's still plenty still in circulation, and giving the newer brands a run for their money. :)

Yes Acorn the monive mk2, the good old days!,

Bet Alarm doesn't recall the Bently alpha range, or indeed their persistent watchdog faults?,

and of course the days before redcare wired signalling,we do don't we old pal :D

You spoilt my fun gts, Clive has probably ripped it off the wall and thrown it in the bin after reading your post LOL :D .

Clive although these panels are inferior to makes such as scantronic , Minerva etc, these seldom leave the factory with defects. Faults are usually created on install, maybe you over tightened the fixings when you mounted the board or the panel.

If you everything linked out with all wiring removed then either the tamper m/switch or the board is faulty , no point in inspecting for a bad solder joint around the tamper switch at this stage because if you attempt a repair and all doesn't go well you will void it's warranty.

Pack it up and send it back.

e manno, clive not have a clue, sorry clive,if you had prob since you fitted it,you made errors the panel you have fitted is cheap and chearfull,us pros not fit them, check all wireing its not rocket science,if you short out the tamper on panel, and the bell box con,and it still shows tamper, then your cheap panel is buggered ,buy a better unit ,

Have you disconnected all tamper loop wiring from the panel, or have you linked out with the wiring in situ?.

Have you checked for induced Ac voltages on individual tamper circuits?,a reading of above 1.2 Vac can cause your tamper alarms.

Or have you already fitted a 12v spike suppressor across the 12VDC supply and mains earth?.

e manno, July 2012
Sorry it's a full installation, as I say i now have all tamper loops linked out and the only thing that can cause the tamper is the tamp switch on the panel,Which is now also linked out.should I suspect a faulty panel as it's pointing towards this now. I would like to be reassured or have alternative suggestions before i send the panel back. My main concern is if the panel doesn't test faulty, that's why I would like you and other's help here.

You say you have replaced the panel, was this connected to existing wiring and monitoring devices, or is it a full install??.
